As industries advanced and the Port of Los Angeles grew, the natural beauty and climate attracted wealthy settlers, businessmen, and entertainers.
Many beach communities began as “tent cities” for immigrant workers and became thriving areas by 1912. Today, these once modest settlements are among the most lush and vibrant areas on Earth.
A walk along The Strand in the beach cities reveals a Postmodern work of art beside a colorful Spanish-style home.. Further up the dunes, down the beach, beyond the cliffs are winding streets of sturdy, proud Craftsman homes, and breezy, comfortable California Bungalows.
And for the avid beachcomber there are secluded beaches in the area that few people ever get to visit.
For instance, the lovely Shaw’s Cove, just south of Laguna Beach, is gorgeous and often empty.
The San Clemente Bluffs are always gorgeous — the water is electric and clear. But imagine having your own stretch of beach to call home?
