Orange Coastal Communities
Orange County is sandwiched between the large urban metropolises of San Diego and LA. The OC coastal properties are smaller in size, but they compete in the quantity and quality of their beaches.
Huntington Beach, one of Orange County’s most popular coastal properties, is best known for being the home to the Vans US Open for Surfing. Each year, Huntington Beach hosts an elaborate festival on the beach, bringing people from all over the world to watch some of the year’s best surfers compete in the beautiful Southern California sun!
Carona Del Mar State Beach in Newport is bonfire friendly and is a great location for a beach camping weekend! A short distance to all the necessities (food, drinks, and FUN!) Newport Beach offers so many offshore adventures to show off the gorgeous waters such as whale watching, cocktail tours, boating, and more!
Victoria Beach is most known for its natural beauty and isolated location. Although it is difficult to get to for parking reasons, it is well worth the trip. When you get there, you\’ll see why!
Orange County is home to many hidden gems!
Los Angeles Coastal Communities
Los Angeles County is home to about ten million people and on sunny days it seems like most are at the beach. Luckily there are many amazing beaches from Long Beach to Malibu to choose from.
El Matador State Beach is one of Malibu’s most beautiful beaches, because of the unique harsh landscape of sharp rocks. Only accessible via a steep sandy path, this beach is difficult to get to but easy to fall in love with.
If you love to surf, head over to El Porto in Manhattan Beach! It is a well-known spot to locals and if you\’re a beginner surfer, the sandy breaks that you’ll see during the summer months are easier to catch.
When I think of a day at the beach… I’m thinking about a relaxing, warm, sandy day with calming ocean noises and soothing winds. The Abalone Cove Ecological Reserve is a little bit different than that image.
With a very steep treacherous path to the beach, it’s not quite the beach chair and umbrella type of day. If you\’re willing to put in a little bit of work to get past the rocky cliffside path from the parking lot, you will be very pleased to find hiking trails that cut through bluffs with gorgeous ocean views, tide poles, and caves along the shore filled with sea life and with so much to explore.
